Why Am I Going To The FMCA EXPO

Posted on Oct 05 in Member Blog

Our business is very busy. Although, never too busy to miss the FMCA EXPO. I feel it is important to support this association which has done so much for our marine construction industry.
Some of the positive things FMCA has done for our industry include fighting the manatee permitting issues, getting a dedicated Workers’ Compensation Code specific to Marine Construction, establishing a Marine Contractors License, and the constant permitting and licensing “battle” with local, state and federal agencies.
I am looking forward to learning from the informative sessions, the vendors’ products and services, and being with other marine contractors. I always leave with excitement from meeting new people and things learned that add more value to our company.
Mostly I look forward to just being with everyone. It is always so much fun to spend time with this great group of people! I consider this as a time to recharge, relax, and connect.
This is the second year at The Shores in Daytona. It is a great location and very interment, warm, fun venue all for $134 a night thanks to Kelly’s negotiating.
Lastly, I must say none of this is possible without Kelly! She is the glue, the bulldog, the problem solver, advocate, and angel for our industry. Kelly is invaluable to my business and to me personally. I call her for anything I need information or an answer. She always has both.
Why am going to the FMCA EXPO? All the reasons above and mostly for Kelly! She puts her heart and soul into our industry. It is the least I can do for her. I hope you feel the same and will make plans to attend.
