Brevard County Contractors’ License Proposed Change
Posted on Sep 17 in Member BlogGood Afternoon Members,
Yesterday I attended the Brevard County Contractor’s Licensing Board Meeting. I was invited to attend the meeting to discuss a proposed change to allow Licensed Excavation Contractor’s to install Rip-Rap Seawalls. The Motion has been on the table for sometime now and was initiated due to a local Excavation Contractor advertising for Seawall Construction.
I was successful in providing information to the Board and validating the need for a properly licensed and experienced Marine Contractor to facilitate this type of work. The motion to amend the Excavation License was removed and the Excavation License will remain unchanged.
This was a huge success story for the Florida Marine Contractor’s working in Brevard County!! Please pass along the good news to the other non-members or the association in your area.
Please keep your association abreast of situations in your area, so that we may continue the work on behalf of the Professional Marine Contractor’s.
Regards,
Kelly White, ED
